Hotel Check In Paris

Bonjour! I have made it to my hotel in Paris! Its the most quaint little hotel that is SUPER CUTE! I have a roommate - her name is Ashley. She is an 18 year old who thought her flight was today but found out it was on Thursday. She was wondering alone in the train station trying to figure out what to do. I had pre made reservations at Hotel Nesle and asked her if she wanted to split the room since she didnt have a place. Just so happened there was a two bed available and they gave it to us at student prices! Sweet! Anyhow I booked this amazing hotel in central Paris so that I can easily get to everything since I will only be here 3 days. I will tell you more soon but I am eager to shower and head out into the town.

London

London is AMAZINGLY fun! Have been venturing so much it's hard to take time and write. A couple of days ago I went to park just outside the olympic stadium to watch the opening ceremony. It was really cool how they set the park up with large screens. Also the fireworks at the end were by for the biggest and best firework display I have ever seen in my entire life! So beautiful! At the ceremony I met a few people from Denmark and ventured along with them all day yesterday. They are hilarious! All day we were quoting lines from Dumb and Dumber and they even sang american country for me! I have all the footage, I just need to download it and will post our night out! In turn I sang them the 50 nifty United States song that lists all of the US states in alphabetical order... they have that footage so if you see it on Youtube you now know why (wink). I dont think I have laughed as hard as I did yesterday hanging out with them in a really long time. It was great. They have asked me to visit in Denmark, but I dont think there will be enough time on this adventure so I told them in a couple of years I will make a Scandinavian adventure romp and hit them up. They leave tomorrow so I may spend some time with them later today. :)

All is well... I feel very safe in London! Tuesday I leave for Paris, and can already tell that I will miss it here. Cheers to everyone and thank you for reading! xx

Just a quick hello...

It's 3am here, and I am super tired... just wanted to let you know tomorrow I will actually post pictures and give you more details what I have been doing...

Here's the sneak peak:

- Ran into my childhood best friend Jenny Cohrs and have been adventuring London with her and her boyfriend (more to come)

- This evening I went to a play called Blood Brothers. It was AMAZING

- Toured London and took lots of pics today and yesterday

- Took a quick nap at the park in my swimsuit - I am losing my Cali surf tan

- Have only had AMAZING food here... I don't know what people complain about...

- Travel has been wonderful.. London made my Top 3 list... possibly my new favorite city (will confirm this at the END of my Euro romp)

- May extend my stay in London to watch an olympic match (this is still TBD)

Keys to Caloo Calay

I apologies for the lack of proper posting. I have actually been running around meeting new people here in London. Where to begin...

So far I have done nothing touristy yet and am LOVING IT! I have met a lot of really cool people and have been having a great time hanging out around the city. Friday as I mentioned I was heading out to a bar to meet up with Chris's friends. We went to this really cool bar called the Refinery right near London Bridge. It had a great vibe, and kind of reminded me of somewhere I would find in LA. Full of young professionals getting off work, most dressed in business casual with some upscale fashion. A bit posh feel - it was great for my inner diva! I had a few glasses of white wine, and chat it up with some cool people. Had a great time! After we went to one of their friends for more drinks and played catch phrase. It was funny playing with all the british accents going on... made me feel like I was in a movie ha! Stayed out till almost 4am and finally went home to sleep.

Saturday I spent the morning relaxing on my friends terrace on the roof of his apartment. It has a pretty cool view of the city, but best of all it has been sunny, and relaxing after travel and a long night out was wonderful. Later I did a lot of little errands around here. Still have not picked up a phone, will be doing that tomorrow though. Around 5 I met up with Chris's friend Andy, Jessica and Barrie for a nice Vietnamese dinner and then off to another bar called Caloo Calay. This bar was really cool! It had like 3 bars in one. So we went in, ordered a drink and hung out in a small bar playing some 90s music. Then at the far end wall, a fancy Beauty & the Beast type closet door opened, and we were invited into the next room in the bar. Apparently you have to make reservations to get in. We go in and there was a small disco ball going around and more music. This time rather than a stand up bar there was cute little tables around the bar. We sat there and had great laughs and chats. Here is the best part, all of the walls were made out of old tape cassettes. The bar had a great vibe, again with an eclectic feel like a cool posh bar in LA. The last room you had to have a "key" to get in. The only way to get a key was to be given a key by someone who worked there. Apparently its kinda VIP. We never got in but I guess Andy had spoken to someone and was working on getting the key for us. The night again was full of great chats, wine, music and fun and ended with a few rounds of foosball and a sausage from a street vendor. Ha! Took the double decker red bus home and will tell you more of my adventure tomorrow.


I will have to post pictures later... it is now 2am and I am dying for some sleep. Big day tomorrow of being a tourist. Will post more soon! All is well in London. I really love this city - it is beating out some of my old favs like chicago... I will let you know more once I explore what everyone is telling me is the best part of London. Chat soon with you! Europe Romp Starts Now

Hi Mom!!!

And everyone else!!!! This is gonna be a short one as I am off to meet friends. Wanted you to know that I have arrived safe and sound... had some lovely food, slept 3 hours and now am off with Chris (I am staying at his place this week) London is really cool so far. Lots of parks, funny speaking people, and COOL buildings. Will check in tomorrow with more details.... ta ta for now!
